S&P 500 rises to retest major resistance

The U.S. markets are back on the offensive following a two-week, nine percent downdraft. In the process, the Standard & Poor's 500 Index has risen to challenge its neckline -- the 1,040 mark -- and its response to this area will likely set the near-term technical tone.
