GameStop Celebrates Madden Gras with Midnight Launch Events for Madden NFL 11

Turn on the Zydeco music and put on your beads. It’s time to celebrate Madden Gras! GameStop, Corp. (NYSE:GME), the world’s largest video game and entertainment software retailer, today announced that it will host Madden Gras midnight events to celebrate the launch of Electronic Arts’ Madden NFL 11 and this year’s cover athlete, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees. More than 3,000 of its U.S. locations will channel the Big Easy at 10:00 p.m. on Mon., Aug. 9, 2010 to countdown to the 12:01 a.m. kickoff.

Madden fans across the nation can sport their masks and beads while they participate in challenges including:

• First-to-play Madden NFL 11 kiosks
• “Ultimate Football Fan” Contests
• “End Zone Dance” Contests

In addition to the store events, GameStop is the official retail sponsor of Electronic Arts’ Madden NFL 11 launch event, Madden Gras. Hosted in the heart of New Orleans, fans will have the chance to enjoy the local flavor from 11:00 a.m. to midnight with food, music, meet and greets with NFL legends, Madden NFL 11 first-to-play gaming kiosks and more.

All player participation has been facilitated by NFL PLAYERS, the licensing and marketing subsidiary of the NFL Players Association.
