The Home of The Richest Culture And The Richest Man

I if had to choose one place in India, I will certainly pick Hyderabad; because of its culture that exceeds all your expectations. Their cuisine is certainly to die for and cooking Indian food will help you understand how to make vegetables even tast

I had a chance to travel one of India’s best places, Hyderabad, when we were asked to train a group of Technical Service Representatives there. From the time that we landed up until we were about to board the plane, I was so quite amazed on how rich their culture was and how much people loved cooking.

I have been always known to like Indian foods especially spicy ones but I have never really learned cooking them. But I was so lucky to have been introduced to one of our trainees who used to be a chef in a small restaurant there. We spent so much time cooking and at the same time learning about the Hyderabad’s culture.

Hyderabad has been the center of Islamic culture. And a part of this heritage is being known the province where “The Jacobs Diamond” is. This belonged to Nizam, who were named the wealthiest man in the whole world. India’s culture in general is predominantly concentrated in music and arts. I am sure you have heard of Bollywood. And Hyderabad shows off its rich culture with the movies shot in there featuring centuries old museums, mosques and monuments. Although Hyderabad prides itself with a prosperous culture, it is one of the most technologically advanced places in India.

We stayed at a very posh hotel called Kakatiya Sheraton and we were introduced to very rich cooking style of the gourmet chefs. A big part of their culture are rice dishes like Nawabi that makes you want to reach for a pitcher of ice tea after you consumed one whole serving. This was what I kept on eating for a few days that I was there. I also had the chance to learn cooking one of my favorite Indian dishes that is so expensive here in our country, the Kormas.

It was said that the cooking style and culture of Hyderabad is the fusion of Hindu and Muslim Mughal cooking. This is why whenever you think of Indian food you think of sumptuous goat and lamb in a rich curry gravy or sauce and then mixed with freshly picked vegetables. If you are a veggie junkie, Hyderabad’s vegetable cuisine is perfect for you. They are so good at cooking vegetable so they don’t taste boring.

Aside from some Indian cooking recipe books, we were sent of by our Hyderabad friends with one of their customary culture for saying goodbye to visitors. They all gave us “Itar” in small bottles, and it smelled good. I felt so sad when it was time to leave because being In Hyderabad, there is a part of me that misses my family so much; but it was rather unsettling that I didn’t feel that home sick because the people were so nice. My cooking buddy was so sad to see me go and said that he will send me more recipes. I certainly learned a lot from her and their culture and I will come back as soon as an opportunity knocks at my door.
