Just in Time for Februarys All-Star Game, University Link Magazine Scores Big with NBA Lakers Kobe Bryant on The Cover

The basketball star sits down for an exclusive interview with ULM editor Rebecca Ford

(ULM)- a monthly glossy magazine written by college students and exclusively designed for college students, will feature LA Lakers shooting guard Kobe Bryant on the cover of their Valentine’s Day issue.

With the All Star Game coming to Los Angeles this year, Bryant is the ideal cover interview for University Link Magazine. Bryant topped all players in votes for this year’s NBA All-Star team with 2,380,016 votes, and has been voted as a starter for the All-Star game for 13 years.

Even after 15 years in the NBA, the Black Mamba still loves the game as much as he did when he began.

“The sound that the ball makes when you dribble it. The sound it makes when it goes through the net. The thrill of learning something new, and when you’re actually playing, the thrill of competition. All of that feels like it’s brand new every time I do it,” Bryant told University Link Magazine.

When Bryant was 17, he became only the 6th player at the time to make the jump from high school straight to the NBA. Because he was under 18, his parents had to co-sign his contract.

When asked about if he ever wished he had attended college, the 32-year-old stated, “I think about it. Every time March Madness comes around, I think what it would have been like to be a part of that, to compete on that stage.”

This year, Bryant and the Lakers are chasing another three-peat. If they do win the Championship, this will be Bryant’s sixth ring.

“Kobe Bryant has spent his entire career with the Lakers, growing from a talented teen into an inspirational team leader,” said ULM’s managing editor, Rebecca Ford. “His continued passion for the game, even after so many years, makes him the epitome of a champion.”

Also featured in this month’s issue, Lucy Hale the star of Pretty Little Liars chats with us about her character Aria Montgomery and what will happen in the new season. Ms. Hale also dishes about her creepy experience while shooting Scream 4 and what she does with her free time. Other spotlights include Glee’s newest cast member Chord Overstreet, and Alexa Vega in the film From Prada to Nada. For all you romantics, there is a gift-giving guide with ideas for that special someone and suggestions for a budget-conscious Valentine’s Day.

The magazine will have a print run of 25,000 copies which will go to students who subscribed on the www.ulmagazine.com website or through a sales representative on campus. New subscribers can take advantage of the magazine’s reduced annual rate of $20 for 10 issues.
