JP Corwyn Organizes Benefit Concert For The Families Of The Fallen St. Petersburg Police Officers.

Legally Blind Musical Artist JP Corwyn organizes Charity Concert in Tampa's Ybor City to benefit the families of the fallen.

The death of two officers of the Saint Petersburg, Florida Police department on Monday, January 24th spurs a call to action.

Legally blind Rock singer/songwriter JP Corwyn joins Suncoast Law Enforcement Charities, Inc http://www.suncoastpba.com ;, in an attempt to in some small way give back to the families which have made the ultimate sacrifice.
"An organization like this makes us better than ourselves - keeping a sharp focus on the good we can do with what we've been given, rather then the good we can be given, for what we can do." said Corwyn.

Sun Coast Law Enforcement Charities, Inc. (SCLEC) was incorporated in 1999 as a not for profit corporation. The purpose for which the corporation was formed is to operate for the advancement of charitable, benevolent, eleemosynary, educational and amateur athletic purposes by distribution of funds for those purposes. The general purposes for which this corporation was formed are to operate exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, which is admirable enough, but in times of strife and loss, this 501 (c)(3) raises monies to help offset funeral and other expenses for the surviving families of those officers who have given their lives in the line of duty.

"I'm legally blind" said Corwyn, "I can't stand shoulder to shoulder with these men and women - be they soldiers of the line serving in our Armed Forces, or Soldiers of the Law, we have a lot to be proud of and thankful for. By their sacrifices, we're kept safe. I'm no soldier, I'm a singer. This is something within my measure to give back."

The Benefit Concert is to be held at PLAY in Ybor City on Friday, February 11th. All proceeds from the $5 admission fee, and $2 from every JP Corwyn CD, T-shirt or Download card purchased that evening will go DIRECTLY to the Suncoast Law Enforcement Charities, Inc, to benefit the families of Sergeant Thomas J. Baitinger & K-9 Officer Jeffrey A. Yaslowitz.
