Actor Dennis L.A. White, Writer Shawn Luckey Return to NC from Off Broadway & Hollywood for Play

Broadway and Hollywood converge upon North Carolina with play production showcasing actor Dennis L.A. White in He Said, Said: A Romantic Comedy alongside fellow NC native playwright/producer Shawn Luckey for a limited engagement on September 29th.

After successful runs in New York and Washington, DC, Luckey Charm Productions is bringing its popular touring play, He Said, She Said: A Romantic Comedy, to Winston-Salem, NC on September 29th for a two-show engagement. Along with the play production, a reuniting of sorts will take place as actor Dennis L.A. White and playwright/producer Shawn Luckey (both graduates of Winston-Salem State University and products of North Carolina) work together to bring their talents to one stage. The stage play deals with a couple’s “seven year itch.” John, a struggling actor played by White, and his wife Jane, a successful relationship therapist played by actress Candice Knox, begin to figure out what type of person they have by their sides. Nonetheless, the couple takes its audience on a comedic look inside their home as John and Jane spend an eventful evening with college friends who have revelations of their own to reveal during a game of Spades.

In 2009, the play ran successfully for six weeks in New York to rave reviews. According to NY's Celeb Locale "...[the play] will have you laughing from beginning to end;" and LA Casting Director Kacee Devoe touted the play a "love production...with a great cast." The touring play, He Said, She Said: A Romantic Comedy began its national tour on February 12th, in New York City. Subsequently, White and actress Osas Ighodaro (Miss Black USA 2010) joined its cast members for later shows. The bi-coastal talent ranges from actors Shaheed K. Woods, Okema T. Moore, Gil Charleston (BET’s Rap It Up), and local artist Shantha Hyman Caldwell. Future tour dates for the tour include Philadelphia and Charlotte.
