Partnership will Continue Legacy of Drawing Lessons from Military leadership Challenges

Diamond6 Strategy and Leadership announced that it has formed a partnership with the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center (USAHEC) Foundation, based in Carlisle, PA. The Foundation supports the AHEC effort to educate the public about the legacy of the men and women who have served as soldiers in the United States as soldiers.

“The U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center (USAHEC) is the United States Army's preeminent museum and research complex,” said Mike Perry, Director of the USAHEC Foundation. “We are dedicated to developing programs and exhibits that preserve the legacy of the men and women who have served our nation as soldiers.”

Diamond6 collaborated with AHEC before the partnership, using the new Visitors’ Center as a venue for learning development seminars, said Jeffrey McCausland, CEO of Diamond6. “There are enormous insights and leadership lessons that can be learned from partnering with AHEC, which offers a vast repository of knowledge from our nation’s military history.

“In fact, across the board, many organizations are realizing that the lessons of discipline, shared suffering and leadership from the military have applications that extend to a wide range of leadership and management challenges,” McCausland added, noting that many prestigious publications have begun to recognize this as well, including The Harvard Business Review which published a special section last year entitled “Leadership Lessons from the Military.”

“Diamond6 is well equipped to translate the maxims of military leadership training into our own leadership and management training seminars,” McCausland added. "We have a faculty that has more than 400 combined years of experience in the U.S. military."

As a partner with USAHEC, Diamond6 will also help to promote the educational efforts of AHEC and the Foundation. The recent opening of a new visitors’ center provides a state of the art learning environment on the campus, McCausland noted, which will enable Diamond6 to further its mission of delivering meaningful, dynamic leadership workshops that address the challenges America’s leaders confront daily in all sectors of our nation.

About the U.S. Army Heritage Center Foundation
The Military Heritage Foundation, doing business as the Army Heritage Center Foundation, is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) that, through donated support, is funding the construction of the public components of the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center-the Visitor and Education Center (VEC) and the Army Heritage Center. As the phased construction program is completed, the Foundation transfers these facilities to the Army to operate, staff, and maintain as part of the Center. The Foundation will then focus on “margin of excellence support” to meet the needs of educational programs and other activities at the USAHEC where federal funds are inadequate or unavailable.

The Foundation completed its Voices of the Past capital campaign in 2010 with the construction of Phase One of the Visitor and Education Center, a key component of the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center campus. Opened to the public on May 20, 2011, the Visitor and Education Center is the focal point for the campus, containing the first large exhibit gallery, and hosting educational activities on the USAHEC Campus.

The Foundation is now is seeking grants and donations for its Build on Success Campaign to build Phase Two of the Visitor and Education Center and to create an endowment to sustain and enhance educational programs. The Foundation’s education program coordinates the National History Day in Pennsylvania, complements the Center’s programs and exhibits, and is a state approved continuing education provider.

The Foundation also supports and enhances USAHEC’s public outreach by supporting marketing initiatives and serving as a public advocate of the Center’s mission and programs. Learn more about the Foundation at www.armyheritage.org.
