Fine Homebuilding Launches the Project House

Venture Includes Integrated Partnerships With Andersen Windows and The Home Depot, Creates Opportunities for Additional Advertisers

Fine Homebuilding, a Taunton Press publication, today announced the launch of “Project House,” a new venture for illustrating the best building practices for both pros and homeowners. Through the initiative, Taunton has formed integrated partnerships with advertisers Andersen Windows and The Home Depot and offers numerous opportunities for additional advertisers. Stephen Giannetti, Taunton’s senior vice president of advertising, made the announcement.
The Project House, a 1950s ranch in dire need of updates and repairs, is a departure from the trend of media companies creating dream homes and show houses, focusing instead on the realistic remodeling challenges faced by building professionals and homeowners. Room by room, system by system, the Project House is a living laboratory on how to design, build and remodel the right way. The Project House gives editors and advertisers opportunities to share with builders, remodelers, designers and do-it-yourselfers the best solutions for common home remodeling projects and energy-efficient upgrades.
Integrated advertising partnerships with Andersen Windows and The Home Depot include print, online and video components along with product placement and use within the Project House. Through the venture, editors and web and video producers will work together to develop integrated content for Fine Homebuilding magazine, Fine Homebuilding newsstand specials, FineHomebuilding.com, GreenBuildingAdvisor.com and a robust video series. Weekly video wrap-ups, blogs and Breaktime, Fine Homebuilding’s web forum, will enable homebuilding enthusiasts to keep up to date on the progress at the Project House.
“We have a smart, passionate and engaged audience, and the Project House provides our editors and advertisers with a fun, real-life launch pad for sharing advice on the materials and remodeling techniques that our experts are using for any given project,” said Giannetti.
“We’re using the same skilled builders as contractors for the Project House, but without a real homeowner to answer to, we’ll be able to pick projects that are most relevant to our audience at any given time,” said Fine Homebuilding Editor Brian Pontolilo. “And we’ll be able to make sure the materials and techniques represent the most practical, up-to-date, and efficient ways to build.”
