Working together with a designer - LINAK introduces two office desks at the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2012 that combine the inspiration and innovation of design with the functionality of electrical movement

LINAK® is a Danish based corporation that specialises in providing electric movement solutions for e.g. desks, kitchens, furniture, agricultural machinery, medical applications, etc. For more than a decade one of our main focus areas has been the office desk market where we have been the leading supplier of height adjustable systems and launched a wide range of motor systems dedicated to height adjustment of office desks.

The expectations to the functionality and the design of an office workstation are ever increasing. Ergonomics, flexibility and sophisticated design - these are all features, which must be met by a desk in modern office environment.

LINAK is a serious sparring partner with in-depth know-how about the industry. We have a complete division with focus on furniture - specially office furniture and we put a lot of effort in knowledge sharing with designers, as we consider combining design with functionality in office desks and furniture a challenging task.

Working together with a designer is an exciting process, which is highly valued by LINAK. We have a broad product range of dedicated office systems for height adjustable desks ensuring ultimate freedom of design. We believe that a close cooperation between a designer and a solutions provider can lead to a result where both functionality and design come together in a quality solution.

LINAK has invited the Danish designer Tine Mouritsen to design two office desks integrating LINAK electrical height adjustable solutions. The title ‘Home is where you work - work is where you socialise’ forms the basis for Tine’s desk designs. Tine will present her creations at the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2012 and explain why this wording is so important for her visualisation and the making of her design.

Tine’s vision when designing the two desks was that ‘home is where you work - work is where you socialise’ and the whole thought of making a desk a more personal part of the office is a strong message from Tine. ‘You work everywhere - at home, on the go etc. So in my opinion you need to make your work zone comfortable and inspiring”. Details in Tine’s desk will demonstrate her vision.

Tine Mouritsen (born 1974) was educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Architecture in Copenhagen in 2000. Since then she has worked as an architect, a furniture and space designer. Her breakthrough came in 2009 with the sustainable furniture series Qo2. In 2010, she was nominated Designer of the Year by Bo Bedre and Best Upcoming Designer of the Year by Boligmagasinet, which in 2011 again nominated Tine, this times as Best Designer of the Year.

Lately she has launched new lamps for Le Klint and she is constantly involved in both interior design, new products and new furniture for both Danish and international companies.
