Blue-Emu is thrilled to officially announce their sponsorship of Professional Bull Rider (PBR) in the Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) rider Stormy Wing. The Texas rider is in his third year as a professional bull rider and is currently ranked in the top 20 in the series.

“I’m excited to jump on with the team. JB Mauney, Luke Snyder and LJ Jenkins are all in the top 20. Shane Proctor’s the defending PRCA World Champion. And Sean Willingham, I mean, it’s just awesome to be on board with these guys,” Wing said.

Along with other Team Blue-Emu riders, Wing chooses to wear a helmet during his rides which proved beneficial last year. His mother, Traleia Wing, explained, “He wears a vest, but never did want to wear a helmet. I really pushed the helmet because his profession is so dangerous.” Eventually taking his mother’s advice, Wing began wearing a helmet just in time for a run-in with the bull Cajun Blast at last year’s Winston-Salem event. Wing’s head collided with the bull twice before he was thrown to the ground unconscious. Carried out a stretcher, he was conscious and communicating with medical staff as he was leaving the arena. His mother said, “He was okay, just a few chipped teeth, but it was very frightening.”
