Mixed Markets Over China's Trade Deficit

The markets traded mixed during the midday with the Dow rising 25 points to 12,947 after China reported a wider than expected trade deficit. Nasdaq slipped 8 points to 2980.

On the upside

FuelCell Energy (Nasdaq: FCEL) will supply South Korea's POSCO Energy with 120 megawatt fuel cell units.

Shares of Coffee Holding (Nasdaq: JVA) continued climbing after reporting higher first quarter earnings on Friday.


Velti (Nasdaq: VELT) reported sharply higher fourth quarter earnings that surpassed analyst expectations.


On the downside


Michael Kors (NYSE: KORS) announced a secondary offering of 25 million shares.


Shares of Human Genome Sciences (Nasdaq: HGSI) fell ahead of its presentation at the Barclays Capital 2012 Global Healthcare Conference on Wednesday, March 14.

Shares of Ferrellgas Partners (NYSE: FGP) continued falling after reporting lower propane sales due to warmer weather.

In the broad market, declining issues outpaced advancers by a margin of more than 9 to 7 on the NYSE and by more than 7 to 5 on Nasdaq. The Russell 2000 which tracks small cap stocks lost 2 points to 814.
