Universal Window Coverings Debuts its Consumer's Guide

By: PRLog
PR Log - Jul 09, 2012 - Universal Window Coverings of Dallas, TX, a leader in the custom plantation shutters industry, announced today the release of its first ever Consumer's Guide to Plantation Shutters.

"We believe this will really help the consumer make a more educated decision once they understand what goes into building a high quality shutter," said Universal President Mike Coronato. "Not being a regulated industry, there are all sorts of manufacturing practices and most people don't have a clue why one brand of shutter costs more than another."

The guide is a 23 page, fact-filled booklet that not only educates the reader about the different methods of shutter construction, but also alerts him or her to potential pitfalls in the industry, and includes ways to avoid being hurt by unscrupulous shutter companies. It's available for free by visiting DontBuyShutters.com.

Mr. Coronato has been in the shutter business since 1992, starting in a humble 1000 sq. ft. metal storage building. By 1998, he merged with another company to create Universal Window Coverings, LLC (UWC), and in 2004 they bought their present 21,000 sq. ft. facility.

UWC is the largest customizer and finisher of O’Hair Shutters (http://www.ohair.com) in the DFW Metroplex. Being one of the few, if not the only shutter company in the area to own a CNC routing machine, their specialty is tackling jobs that the others can't. "We've actually had other shutter companies refer jobs to us because they weren't able to do it", Coronato said.
