GameStop and Nintendo Team Up on Disney Infinity Demo Day

GameStop, the world’s largest multichannel retailer of video games, and Nintendo of America invite young gamers and their families to discover Disney Infinity, Disney Interactive’s biggest video game to date, as it hits store shelves on Sunday, Aug. 18.

From 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. in nearly 100 GameStop stores across the U.S. families can see the all-new gaming platform while being taught by Nintendo team members how to play Disney Infinity on the Wii U. Who hasn’t thought about building a world where Mr. Incredible uses a Monsters University toilet paper launcher while driving around in Cinderella’s carriage with monster truck wheels? Now players can let their imaginations run free and create their own adventures.

“We are pleased to collaborate with Disney and Nintendo and bring our customers this opportunity to be among the first to play Disney Infinity and to play as the characters they know and love,” said Roger Baker, Disney merchant at GameStop. “It is a wonderfully immersive video game experience, and we will be offering the collectible figures, power discs, accessories and more that will bring the magic of Disney home.”

GameStop will also be the exclusive retailer offering a mini-magazine giveaway to the first 30 customers who make a Disney Infinity purchase in each store and $10 off the Disney Infinity Strategy Guide with a starter kit purchase. GameStop is also offering a 30% trade bonus on any items traded toward Disney Infinity products. As part of a channel-wide pre-order exclusive, customers can also get a free figure and power disc pack when pre-ordering a starter pack.

Select GameStop locations will also stay open late for midnight events on Saturday, Aug. 17 and others will open early at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18.
