Atlanta Hosts Candlelight Vigil to Remember 1 Million Pit Bulls Euthanized Annually in Shelters
PRLog - Oct. 16, 2013 - ATLANTA -- Friends to the Forlorn and Stubby’s Heroes have come together to organize a Candlelight Vigil to bring focus to the number of Pit Bulls that are euthanized each year due to overpopulation, abuse, discrimination and lack of education.  October is National Pit Bull Awareness Month so it is time to realize that approximately 1 million ‘bully breeds’ are being killed each year.

This event is focused on creating mindfulness so that we can all become animal advocates and work together to make a change. Jason Flatt, Founder of Friends to the Forlorn, states, “Light a candle of awareness so our community is educated on the numbers of Pit Bulls that are euthanized each year, of hope for a future where shelters are not overcrowded and dogs are in loving homes, and of the change we, as advocates, strive daily to create.”

Light a candle to show you believe that Pit Bulls have a right to live and are not just born to die.  LED candles will be available for purchase for $5.00 each and can be pre-ordered by e-mailing fttfevents@gmail.com.  All money will be used for Pit Bull rescue and rehabilitation.  (Open flame is prohibited at this event.)
