PRLog - Feb. 2, 2014 - RICHFIELD, Minn. -- PetsLoyal2Vets is a Minnesota 501(c)(3) nonprofit community based outreach organization which recognizes and supports the emotional bond and therapeutic value of the human-animal relationship and its incredible emotional and psychological benefits incorporated into the healing process.

On Saturday, February 8, 2014 Pets Loyal 2 Vets will be hosting its mid-winter fundraising event, dinner and silent auction with live music from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm to raise awareness and support for disabled Minnesota veterans who have been diagnosed and treated for Post Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injuries and Physical Assault Traumas and we welcome all veterans and their families to come out and show your support.

"We are excited this year to be holding this event in the banquet hall at the Minneapolis/Richfield American Legion Post #435 in Richfield, Minnesota which would not have been possible if it were not for the generous support from over 40 sponsors" said Jeff LeBaron, Executive Director for Pets Loyal 2 Vets also a disabled veteran.

Guest speakers from area veteran organizations will be present to discuss services they provide. Seargent Major Brett Beaudette who served several tours in Iraq and Afghanistan will talk about deployment challeneges he and families of other soldiers experience with live music provided by WASTEBAND.  Many incredible items and veteran paintings have been donated from over 40 sponsors offering a wide variety of choices for the silent auction.  A special thanks goes out to these sponsors who helped make this event possible http://petsloyal2vets.org/events/

Founded in 2011 and officially formed as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization in February 2013, Pets Loyal 2 Vets is the first veteran only non-profit organization in Minnesota that will provide highly trained companion, therapy and psychiatric service dogs to qualifying veterans enrolled in its programs free of charge to the veteran.

It has been long understood that dogs have fostered symbiotic relationships with humans for thousands of years and have played important roles in every major war around the world and that their dedication and valor is now part of our history. Soldiers know first hand how vital a trained dog is to the physical and psychological well-being and security of their handlers and now it's time to give back to these service members with highly trained service dogs.

Currently veterans are finding they are required to travel to the West Coast, East Coast or as far off as Florida to obtain a highly trained dog at no cost. Some of these organizations charge from $15,000 to $50,000.00 for a therapy or service dog putingt the help veterans need now, out of financial reach.

Our programs are free to qualifying veterans bringing home, the services and programs they need right here in Minnesota.  This expedites turn around time and puts a highly trained dog into the hands of needy veterans without additional travel expense, time away from families and jobs.

Pets Loyal 2 Vets relies entirely upon individual and corporate donations, fundraising events and grants from supporting groups to operate and renovate the interior of its new training facility into a state-of-the-art training facility placing highly trained dogs into the hands of needy veterans.

Companion Dogs  -  Training usually is completed within 4 to 6 weeks and must pass the AKC canine good citizen (CGC) program.

Therapy Dogs  -  Training usually is completed in 6 to 9 months and must pass the Therapy Dog International (TDI) or (ADI) Assistance Dog International certification program.

Psychiatric Service Dogs  -  Training is quite extensive and is usually completed in 12 to 15 months and must pass the Assistance Dogs International (ADI) certification program.

Tickets are just $10.00 to this event and are available on-line at www.PetsLoya2Vets.org, and at the door.  All veterans and reservists who arrive in uniform receive 50% off.  To make a donation, please make checks out to Pets Loyal 2 Vets and mail to:  P.O. Box 1895, Burnsville, MN 55337.

Please contact Jeff LeBaron for interviews or coverage at this event.
