PRLog - Mar. 4, 2014 - MIDDLETOWN, N.J. -- Suzi’s Sweet Shoppe, a local family-owned and operated candy shop located in Middletown, New Jersey reports a banner year for their company in 2013.  Owners Susan and Stan Hordych have a passion for chocolate and use only the freshest, high-quality ingredients for each and every piece they make.   Through outreach to the community with local charity events and plenty of marketing as well as good, old fashioned hard work, Suzi’s Sweet Shoppe celebrated an anniversary, co-authored a book, was featured on national news, launched new products and was voted the best chocolate in the area, all of which added up to a monumental year for the little chocolate shop that could.

To start off what would become a series of exciting events for Suzi’s Sweet Shoppe, Susan added author to her resume as she participated in and co-authored a book, Journey to Joy – Inspiring Stories of Women Who Follow Their Hearts To Live in the Space of Joy, where Susan details her journey to becoming an award winning Chocolatier.  This book is currently available on Amazon and for sale in her shoppe.  Part of her story in the book is her determination to be the best at her profession, which fuels her quest to continue to provide new products and services to her customers.  As a result, Susan also earned her certification in gift basket design last year through the Gift Basket Association and launched new corporate gift giving services.

According to Susan, “Looking back on the year we had, it seems like everything we accomplished led to the next milestone and achievement.  Somehow all of these events became linked to one another, which led to an incredible finish for us in 2013.”

Later in the year Suzi’s Sweet Shoppe was voted “Best in Monmouth”, for the fourth year in a row by the readers of Monmouth Health & Life Magazine. This only made the shoppe’s 15-year anniversary in November even more important, and was celebrated for an entire weekend in November with customers and the public invited to stop by. The Mayor of Middletown was on hand for a congratulatory photo, and the party included prizes for visitors and new products to taste, like their new brewed cocoa.

“Celebrating our anniversary this past November was surreal.  It’s hard to believe 15 years have gone by in a blink, but when you love what you do it’s more like having fun every day instead of work,” Susan continues.

The pinnacle of this incredible year was having Brian Muller of ABC News 7 come to the shop on National Peanut Butter Fudge Day to tape Susan during a fudge making demonstration.  The segment aired on November 20th and the shoppe was flooded with orders and requests for their fudge.

“We were very excited to have been selected to feature our fudge making on national television.  It was a great way to kick off the holiday season and as a result we continue to see an increase in demand for our homemade fudge and chocolate,” continues Susan.

With a recent featured article in the Asbury Park Press, Suzi’s Sweet Shoppe continues to rise on the merits of their hard work, family atmosphere and the ability to help their customers with requests, special orders and the occasional emergency.

With so many milestones behind them last year, Suzi’s Sweet Shoppe is poised for continued success throughout 2014.  As Susan and Stan continue to offer new and delicious combinations of homemade chocolates, hand dipped pretzels and fruits, party favors, gift baskets and corporate services they look forward to providing their customers with the very best for years to come.  For more information on Suzi’s Sweet Shoppe, visit their website at http://www.suzisweetshoppe.com or call 732-796-0115.
