HealthCare Simulations Launches Automated CPR Training Solution
PRLog - Mar. 27, 2014 - PORTSMOUTH, Va. -- HealthCare Simulations (HCS), L.L.C. is pleased to announce the launch of the much anticipated, Automated Intelligent Mentoring System (AIMS™) CORE Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training Software for compression-only life support. Using Microsoft state-of-the-art gaming hardware and patent-pending technology, AIMS allows licensed training providers to evaluate a learner’s performance of compression-only CPR using any airway training manikin, from any location, through a user-friendly virtual training environment.

In further detail, the AIMS CORE CPR Training Software provides a low-cost, high fidelity instructional solution for the objective assessment of a learner’s procedural skill competency. Utilizing the Microsoft Kinect for Windows camera, the AIMS virtual assistant called the Automated Intelligent Mentoring Instructor (AIMI), actively observes a learner practicing compression-only CPR; while providing feedback and guidance when required.

Following each consecutive run, the learner will immediately receive a detailed after-action report describing the accuracy of their procedural-based body mechanics and vocal interactions. This allows instructors to objectively assess a learner’s skill level, while providing the student an entertaining and accessible training environment from any location. The AIMS CORE CPR Training Software for compression-only life support will be available for digital download on March 28, 2014 via www.learnwithaims.com or via Twitter at #GetAIMS.

The initial development of the AIMS™ patent-pending technology was the direct result of a grant provided by the Center for Innovative Technology (CIT) Commonwealth Research Commercialization Fund (CRCF) in 2012. This funding opportunity led to a collaborative development effort between HealthCare Simulations (HCS) L.L.C., SimIS Inc., Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS), Old Dominion University (ODU), CIT and the Microsoft™ Kinect Partnership Program. A continuation of additional products and services are currently in development to support safe lifting in the workplace, endotracheal intubation and various other procedures that have been identified by medical experts in the field.
