Fridge Art Fair NY Annouces New Dates and Venue

Opening Gala May 8  Benefits City Critters Inc.

In the wake of the March 31 closure by the NYC DOB of Angel Orensanz Center, the Fridge Art Fair team began a search for an alternate collaborative venue that would house all exhibitors. We are pleased to announce that the Fair will be presented at  5-25 46th Avenue in Long Island City, one of New York’s most vibrant art studio districts, thanks to major sponsorship by Plaxall Inc. Additional sponsors include The Roger Smith Hotel and Jerry's Art-a-Rama.

The “Ice Cream Edition” will open with a press preview from 4-6pm and benefit gala for City Critters, Inc.  from 6-9pm on Thursday, May 8, with regular fair hours and special presentations Friday - Sunday, May 9-11, from 12 - 8pm. The space is adjacent to the popular weekend destination, the LIC Flea.

Inviting and challenging presenters to create a unique visual experience in an intimate environment, Fridge is the brainchild of artist Eric Ginsburg. Joining him in shaping the fair are: New York artist, art journalist (Revolt Magazine, Huffington Post) and curator Linda DiGusta as co-director fair;StreetArtNYC editor Lois Stavsky, an educator, curator and writer with a particular passion for global street art, who has organized a special gallery within the fair featuring a children’s workshop conducted by Angel Ortiz, aka LA 2, and more guests artists to be announced; and Brooklyn-based artist, curator and writer Jeanne Wilkinson curating the a program of video art.

Gala admission is $45 in advance and $60 at the door, with a portion of the proceeds donated to City Critters, Inc. General admission costs $10, all are good for admission through the run of the Fair. Tickets and information are available at fridgeartfair.com
