The Snowy Owl Inn and Resort is once again excited to host riders in the annual Killer Bee Ride. Every year in late April, a group of some 150-plus bicycle riders (the "Killer Bees"), including cyclists from each of the New England states, make the 130-mile, two-day trek from Concord, NH to Waterville Valley, and back. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Ride.

The Killer Bee Ride is a recreational ride, including riders of all ages, and equipment and fitness levels. Trophies are awarded each year to both the youngest rider to complete the Ride and to the "Most Mature" rider.

The 2014 edition of the Ride will take place April 26-27. As of April 1, more than 200 riders have registered for the event.

When asked about why he chose Waterville Valley as the destination, ride organizer Irv Gordon had this to say, "Waterville is such a beautiful scenic ride, and the folks at the Snowy Owl really know how to cater to a relaxing evening for our riders after we have ridden 130 miles. It has just been a great partnership for our group, and one we look forward to continuing for years to come."

The "Killer Bee" designation traces back to the early 1980's, when the first participants in the event wore yellow and burgundy-striped jerseys, leading some spectators to dub the participants as "killer bees."

Steve Hodges, General Manager of the Snowy Owl Inn, added, "We are delighted to once again be included as the finish line to this great event. Here at the Snowy Owl Inn, we like to think of our patrons and guests like family, and this event is one we look forward to every year."
