Tight Tolerances Required for Power Transmissions and MECA Delivers Quality Gears
PRLog - Apr. 18, 2014 - GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Manufacturers requiring extremely tight-tolerance gears count on MECA & Technology Machine Inc. to supply AGMA class 12 gears for applications such as power transmissions.
AGMA (American Gear Manufacturers Association) quality classes range from 3 to 15, with the higher numbers indicating the most accurate gear tolerances. Only precise manufacturing methods are able to achieve tolerances at the highest levels.

“Gears with tolerances at this level must have a tooth-ground profile,” explains Mike Karchinski, Vice President of Sales. “Very few gear manufacturers are capable of producing AGMA class 12 gears, and we are one of only two shops north of Milwaukeee to offer this service.”

MECA manufactures custom gears and stock gears for existing equipment, as well as prototypes and replacement parts for restocking and rebuilds. MECA technicians also reverse-engineer obsolete or hard-to-find components, and perform on-site emergency repairs.

MECA & Technology Machine employs approximately 50 people at its Green Bay, Wis., facilities. For more information, call Mick Karchinski at (920) 336-7382.
