TrueNet Communications Selected as Strategic Partner for National M2M Network Build-Out

TrueNet Communications has been selected by M2M Spectrum Networks to manage the build-out of what will become the nation’s first purpose-built network designed specifically for machine-to-machine communications. Starting in the second quarter of 2014, the network will be rolled out in phases with an objective of covering 75% of the US population by the end of 2015, and 95% by the end of 2016.

“We are incredibly proud to be one of the strategic partners selected by M2M Spectrum Networks to build their national all-IP M2M network for Businesses, Critical Infrastructure, and Public Safety,” stated TrueNet Communications President and CEO, Frank Del Col. “Industry pundits had foreseen the need for a purpose-built network whose core function is to power the Internet of Things, but until now, no one had put together the nationwide spectrum necessary to deliver on that vision. M2M SN will be the first and only dedicated and licensed machine-to-machine network in the nation.” It cannot come too soon for companies that want to exploit the capabilities of machine-to-machine communications but are hampered by existing wireless carrier plans to decommission their legacy 2G networks on which many machine-to-machine networks run today. “We believe, as do many others in our industry, that the availability of a stable, low-cost nationwide M2M network on which developers can base their applications will serve as a platform and catalyst for the next wave of innovation in this country.”

“This award follows on the heels of our selection in January by one of the country’s leading CATV MSO’s as its National Program Manager for WiFi deployments and is another indication of TrueNet’s strength in this key area,” stated TrueNet’s Senior Vice President Network Services, Mark Lampke. “Machine-to-machine networks have the ability to transform our world and we’re honored to be selected by M2M SN as their network implementation partner.”

“I am excited about this partnership with TrueNet,” said Doreen Trant, Senior Vice President of Network Implementation of M2M Spectrum Networks. “Partnering with TrueNet allows us the scale, resources, speed, and flexibility we require in order to meet our aggressive build plans over the next few years,” added Trant.

The award calls for TrueNet to manage M2M SN’s network build-out including logistics, construction, provisioning and commissioning. In order to facility the cooperation between the two companies, M2M SN operational personnel will be co-located at TrueNet’s Jacksonville, Florida based headquarters.
