New Research Finds More than Half of Australasian Marketers Plan to Invest in Mobile

More than half of marketers in Australasia plan to invest in mobile in 2014, according to new research by the ExactTarget Marketing Cloud from salesforce.com (NYSE:CRM).

Based on a survey of more than 200 marketers across Australia and New Zealand, the ExactTarget Marketing Cloud’s 2014 State of Marketing Australasia found marketers plan to increase investments in data and analytics (63 percent), email marketing (62 percent), marketing automation (61 percent), SMS messaging (57 percent) and content management (56 percent).

Additional findings include:

Top priorities for 2014:

  • Increasing conversion rates (49 percent)
  • Increasing and improving brand awareness (41 percent)
  • Improving data acquisition efforts (31 percent)

Email

  • 91 percent of marketers believe that email marketing does or will produce ROI
  • 71 percent of marketers believe email marketing is core to their business
  • 66 percent have a dedicated email marketing team

Mobile

  • 83 percent of marketers who use mobile believe mobile efforts do or will produce ROI
  • 72 percent of marketers who use mobile say their company has an app
  • 38 percent of marketers plan to introduce mobile reengagement campaigns in 2014

Social

  • 84 percent of marketers believe social marketing efforts will or do produce ROI
  • 60 percent have a dedicated social team
