UPS posts earnings of 98 cents a share vs $1.08 estimate

Analysts had expected the company to report earnings excluding items of $1.08 a share on $13.91 billion in revenue, according to a consensus estimate from Thomson Reuters.. Last month, UPS said it will raise shipping rates at its freight unit by 4.4 percent, a larger jump than that of rival FedEx.
