The Center for Financial Services Innovation Announces New Board Member

The Center for Financial Services Innovation (CFSI) today announced the appointment of Jane Thompson to the company’s board of directors. Chief Executive Officer of Jane J. Thompson Financial Services LLC and former President of Walmart Financial Services, Thompson brings the board’s size to 12 members.

“Jane is an innovator and recognized thought leader,” said Jennifer Tescher, President & CEO, CFSI. “She is joining us at a pivotal time for the company as we broaden our mission from meeting the needs of the underbanked to improving Americans’ financial health. We look forward to the insight and guidance Jane will provide our board.”

Thompson is currently Chief Executive Officer of Jane J. Thompson Financial Services LLC, a financial services consulting firm, focusing on advising businesses serving the financial services needs of mass-market consumers. For over two decades, she served at the executive level of two of the largest global retailers where she helped maximize the performance of billion-dollar business groups as well as corporate start-up divisions.

Thompson founded Walmart Financial Services and served as its President from May 2002 to June 2011. At Sears, Roebuck & Co. she led Sears Credit, Sears Home Services and Sears Online. She is currently an independent director on three corporate boards including: The Fresh Market (NASDAQ: TFM), VeriFone (NYSE: PAY) and Navient (NASDAQ: NAVI).

Previously, Thompson was a partner with McKinsey & Company, Inc. and worked in brand management and marketing at Procter & Gamble.

Thompson received a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a B.B.A. in Marketing from the University of Cincinnati.
