PRLog - Jul. 16, 2014 - ATLANTA -- The first completed PASS Box™ (achronym for Portable Aggregate Supply System) containers manufactured in The Republic of Korea recently rolled off the assembly lines. It is anticipated that this initial fleet will be transported from the Port of Busan to China where they will be filled with various dry bulk exports including cement and ceramic proppant for export all over the world.
The PASS Box™ is an ABS certified intermodal 20' container specially designed to transport dry bulk goods. It promises to cut out many of the logistical challenges present in traditional dry bulk aggregate transportation methods such as trans-loading facilities and silo storage. The containers can be filled at the source (whether a Chinese proppant factory or a Wisconsin quarry), sealed (airtight and watertight), and delivered and stored (they can stack up to eight units high) directly at the final destination. Four of the twenty-foot containers can be transported on one rail car, which (when combined) would hold about the same amount of material as a railroad hopper car.
