Avnet Technology Solutions Selected as New Converged Infrastructure Distributor for Nutanix in the U.S. and Canada

Avnet Technology Solutions, the global IT solutions distribution leader and an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), today announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with Nutanix, the web-scale converged infrastructure company. Under this agreement, Avnet will provide its channel partners in the U.S. and Canada with the Nutanix Virtual Computing Platform, which partners can use to design and develop converged compute and storage infrastructure for virtualized data centers.

Avnet serves as a single-source distributor for building and deploying cost-effective data center solutions using technologies from leading brands, such as VMware®. The Nutanix Virtual Computing Platform will complement this portfolio by offering partners a converged infrastructure option that consolidates the server and storage tiers into a single, integrated appliance. With this platform, Avnet’s partners can now offer their enterprise and government agency customers solutions based on a web-scale architecture, an approach to designing, building and managing data center infrastructure pioneered by web companies and cloud providers such as Google, Amazon and Facebook. End customers will be able to quickly deploy and scale data center infrastructure, reduce the cost and complexity of storage, and integrate the Nutanix platform with legacy components to maximize existing IT investments.
