Arrow Secures e-Stewards Certification for Reno Facility

Arrow Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: ARW), today announced the certification of its Reno, Nev., facility to the e-Stewards standard, one of the world’s most comprehensive electronic waste management certifications.

“Aligned with our ‘one global’ policy, Arrow currently is working to certify all of our value recovery processing facilities globally to the e-Stewards standard, and we are pioneering industry standards in parts of the world that lack certified reuse, remarketing and recycling processes,” said Scott Venhaus, director of global quality, compliance and engineering for Arrow’s value recovery business. “With Arrow’s engineering experience and distribution expertise, we continually focus on the reuse of devices, parts and components – with recycling as a last resort. As standards and best practices continue to evolve, we incorporate them into our business – helping to move our industry forward.”

The e-Stewards initiative and certification is a market-based solution for e-waste aimed at helping individuals and organizations identify and promote electronics recyclers that are committed to the highest standards of environmental and social responsibility. It is a globally accredited, third-party-audited certification program developed by the Basal Action Network with industry leaders.
