As was reported to Reuters, Forbes, Penn Medicine,  WPVI-ABC 6, KYW-CBS 3, WTXF-FOX 29, WCAU-NBC-10, and WMGM-NBC, a Philadelphia, Glen Mills, Bala Cynwyd, and Cherry Hills, NJ area plastic surgeon is facing bankruptcy. Harvard-trained surgeon Susan Hughes of the Hughes Surgery center was served with official notification of the pending creditor’s filed bankruptcy petition in the United States Bankruptcy Courts District of New Jersey. The bankruptcy petition has been finalized and will be put before Federal Chief Bankruptcy Judge Gloria Burns the week of October 13, 2014. Sources say that the bankruptcy petition requests that the court immediately appoint a trustee to freeze and conduct asset reviews of Susan Hughes Plastic Surgery Center in a final effort to protect the assets of the creditors.

Hammerhead Debt is a creditor involved in the bankruptcy petition against the Glen Mills, Philadelphia, and Cherry Hills, New Jersey area plastic surgery center. When asked for more details on why this bankruptcy is being filed, General Manager Mike Brown said, “We and potentially dozens of other creditors are owed a substantial sum of money by the debtor. Rather than deal with their delinquent debts properly, the debtor has chosen to take the ‘ignore the legal notices and hope they go away’ approach. Doing this isn’t just bad for creditors, but bad for the debtor as well: once the trustee has control of their business, all bets are off. Patients that have paid for surgery may not be able to get their surgery completed or their post-follow-up work done, and employees and contractors can end up with little or no return for their work. If they don’t have the cash on hand to immediately satisfy the creditors, we won’t accept any offers of future payment plans; that ship has sailed. We are petitioning for a Chapter 7 liquidation of all assets of the business, including those assets used to finance facilities in other non-owned locations. The Anthony Spa in Glen Mills, PA will be a bankruptcy target.”

Additional businesses that are owed delinquent debt by Susan Hughes Surgery Center can still join the finalized bankruptcy petition before October 13, 2014. More details of the bankruptcy filing can be heard in the attached radio commercial, which is slated to air in the Philadelphia DMA in September.
