What Has Changed and What Will Change in the Pet Industry

In Australia alone, there were 8 million recorded pet owners in the country by 2012, 4.2 million of which have dogs, 3.3 million owned cats, while the rest have other pet breeds. In the US, the 2012 American Pet Products Association (APPA) Survey revealed that 68% have pets in their homes. Pet ownership is being tied to adults deciding to stay single and buy domestic animals for companionship or married couples delaying plans of having a baby.
