SCMS Cochin School of Business welcomed its 23rd batch of students with a rigorous orientation program to put them right into the thick of action. The institute aims to ensure that its students are prepared for the challenges that lie ahead of them and it all begins with the induction program. It offered an opportunity for all management aspirants to get on the fast track to learning. The institute on its part had managed to draw some of the leading lights from the industry for the program to make sure that the students learned from the best.

An engaging inaugural session was held on the 5th of Aug, 2014 for the benefit of the new students. The session was presided over by Dr. G. P. C. Nayar, Chairman, SCMS Group. Dr. V. The inaugural address was to be delivered by Mr. Sajiv Menon and it had the audience brimming with anticipation. But before that it was the turn of Mr. Nayar to have a few words with the students. He was encouraging of their decision of joining the institute and pursuing their dreams because he believed it was the right time to do so. Mr. Menon then took to the stage and began his inauguration address. He started with talking about the facilities at SCMS Cochin and appreciating the efforts the institute has taken to offer its students state of the art amenities for a dynamic learning experience. He then urged the students to make the most of the opportunities they have at the institute. "Resources are everywhere; it is up to you to get the best out of these resources. Explore them to the fullest to realize your true potential," he said.

While Mr. Menon was keen on and hoped that students would equip themselves with skills that will take them far in their professional careers, he also wanted them to enjoy their time at the institute. He ended his invigorating address by asking students to remember their social responsibility while they marched on their road to professional success.
