UnitedHealthcare Wins Two “Stevies” at the 2014 American Business Awards

UnitedHealthcare received two “Stevies” at the 2014 American Business Awards, which honors positive contributions of organizations and businesses. UnitedHealthcare’s online resource myClaims Manager earned Silver in the Health Products & Services category, while myEasyBook also received Silver in the same category.

More than 3,500 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in nearly every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories.

“myClaims Manager and myEasyBook make interaction with the health system more simple and personalized, giving people greater peace of mind and control,” said Jeff Alter of UnitedHealthcare. “We are grateful to receive these awards and that myClaims Manager and myEasyBook are helping people have a positive health care experience.”

myClaims Manager enables more than 21 million UnitedHealthcare plan participants to pay their medical bills and manage their health care claims and related expenses online from one location. Since the launch of payment capability in July 2013, more than $67 million in payments have been made to more than 65,000 health care providers through the secure, online payment service. UnitedHealthcare is the first national insurance carrier to offer plan participants online bill-payment capabilities that are fully integrated with their online claim information.

myEasyBook is an online health care shopping service that makes it easier and more affordable for consumers to make appointments with local health care professionals, including for same-day and next-day appointments. The service enables consumers to make appointments online and compare in-network care providers in multiple specialties, providing discounts of 30 percent or more compared to average out-of-pocket expenses for health care services. myEasyBook is currently available to UnitedHealthcare plan participants enrolled in high-deductible health plans in Dallas, Denver and Phoenix, with plans to expand the service to more markets in 2015.

myClaims Manager and myEasyBook are part of UnitedHealthcare’s portfolio of consumer-friendly technology advancements designed to simplify and enhance consumers’ health care experience.
