Kruger Captivates in “Murder Beach,” a Work of Hard-Hitting Intrigue

By: PRLog
David Santorino, along with his sister and her children, believe that their Florida vacation in Sunny Shores will be intense with hot sun, good conversation, and an infant feeding schedule. Expecting to escape from reality, the last they expect is to be confronted with it in an amplified gruesome fashion: a string of murders has plagued the beach, and David is determined to discover the cause.
PRLog - Sep. 17, 2014 - HAMPSTEAD, Md. -- Evelyn Wolph Kruger wastes no time hooking readers with the mystery of murder and a main character with suspect intentions. David Santorino, FBI agent and recent divorcée, is spending overdue quality time with his sister, Martha, and her children in Sunny Shores, Florida when he uncovers an old woman’s body lying dead in a dumpster. After snapping several pictures and relishing in his excitement at being an oddly important component of her presumed murder, he all too calmly notifies the police from his sister’s rented Oceanside unit.

With Martha’s husband, Lucas, away on active duty, David stands in as head of the house during his stay and spends ordinary time with his niece and nephew—building sand castles, running errands, cooking dinner. The vacation seems commonplace, until David discovers another body rolled in a towel and laying on the beach, dead as the woman in the dumpster. After multiple interactions with the attractive, all-business sheriff, Linda Elston, who hardly trusts David’s FBI background and too convenient involvement with Sunny Shores’ string of murders, yet another body is uncovered—that of Agnes, who shared a mutual connection with Linda and her suspected sister, Carolyn, who dug her body up from the sand.

Byron Brockton, brother to Linda and Carolyn, works as the manager for the condo building where Martha rents. A washout compared to both sisters—one an artist with a son, the other the town sheriff—Byron fears that his rental practices will raise the suspicions of his tenets and draw the attention of the small town he inhabits. Given Byron’s shady business practices, it is highly likely that he played a role in the three murders, though to what extent he contributed is just as unknown.

Cause for the mysterious murders plaguing the seemingly simple Sunny Shores are not easily or quickly deduced. Martha and David, on constant and high alert, continue to speculate about the members of the beach town, their whereabouts, personal connections, and suspicious interactions. High on their list of potential suspects is Thomas Logan of Shore Plumbing, who fits the physical bill of a murderer. Drawing from commonalities of the three murders, David and Martha continue to search for connections between the townspeople that could, perhaps, explain the tragic deaths and continually question whether they, themselves, are in eminent danger.
