Festivities fall into Place as Autumn Descends on Destin

Cooler Weather Brings an Air of Excitement and Outdoor Festivals
PRLog - Oct. 1, 2014 - DESTIN, Fla. -- The fall season in Destin, Florida is welcomed with a sunny eagerness by all who peruse her streets and beaches. The heat has diminished but the lineup of events has not. In fact, accompanied by sighs of relief over the crisp air, outdoor festivities take center stage. The much anticipated Baytowne Wharf Beef Festival will kick off October 18th and will feature more than 200 domestic and international craft beers available for sampling. Live music by The Owsley Brothers and Native Run will complete the festival weekend. A portion of the festival proceeds will benefit the Fisher House & Sandestin Foundation for Kids.

October is a wonderful month to be young and whether it’s in spirit or age, that is no matter. Visitors will have ample opportunity to don their favorite costumes and go trick-or-treating at one of Destin’s outdoor lifestyle centers. It begins with AJ’s Fall Festival- crafts from Build-A-Bear, treats, pumpkin decorating, face painting, and a bouncy house are set to thrill on October 20th. Then, on the evening of the 25th a costume contest, a haunted house and creepy crafts will provide a fun diversion at the Destin Commons. Next up, Halloween on the BOOlevard of fun on October 31st at Grand Boulevard, where merchants will provide treats and the Emerald Coast Theatre Company will provide the entertainment. Finally, The Village of Baytowne Wharf will host Trick or Treat Street boasting frights and spooky fireworks at 8 PM.

The 19th Annual Festival of the Arts is slated for the weekend of October 25th. This inspiring and educational event is recognized as one of Northwest Florida’s premier fine art shows. Artists and visitors come together from all over the states to enjoy this expertly organized event. Many stay at a Destin beach condo provided by Edgewater Beach Condominiums. Children's art activities, a wine/beer garden, cuisine on the green, a collaborative art exhibit and competition make this a weekend not to miss.
