Using a motorized actuator and bluetooth low energy technology, the product makes it easy to control light switches, fan switches, and more. After removing a home’s old switch plates, users can easily place the battery powered ActuSwitch module over any décor style switch (no wiring required).
Once paired with a bluetooth activated smartphone, the user can control the state of the light switch and turn it on or off via the HometronX mobile app. Users can also schedule lights to turn on or off automatically for home security. In addition, the ActuSwitch module allows the light switch to maintain normal functionality so that any resident can manually operate the switch as desired.

Charles Bucher, the founder of HometronX, has more than 16 years of entrepreneurial and executive experience. He co-founded Solar Power Industries, a vertically integrated manufacturer of solar ingots, cells and modules, and served as President, Chief Technology and Manufacturing Office and has extensive experience in engineering, product design and development, manufacturing, and corporate management.
After creating the initial prototype, Bucher decided to turn to Kickstarter to help finance the initial production run of ActuSwitch and involve the crowdfunding community in the project.
