Avnet Velocity’s Wade McDaniel to Present at IBF Business Forecasting & Planning: Best Practices Conference

Avnet, Inc. (NYSE:AVT), a leading global technology distributor, today announced that Wade McDaniel, vice president of solutions architecture, Avnet Velocity, will present a session, titled “Innovating the Supply Chain through Segmentation, Planning, and Forecasting,” at the IBF Business Forecasting & Planning: Best Practices Conference. The event takes place October 28-29, 2014, at Disney’s Beach & Yacht Club Resort in Orlando, Fla.

During his session on Wednesday, October 29, at 8:00 a.m. EDT, McDaniel will discuss how segmentation is key to driving growth in the supply chain and providing value to customers. He also will highlight the processes and benefits of supply chain segmentation, as well as examples of companies who successfully leverage segmentation strategies to enhance the customer experience.

“Supply chain segmentation is about managing multiple supply chain configurations to ensure each customer gets what they most value,” said McDaniel. “Establishing an effective segmentation strategy requires a deep understanding of how customer and product complexities drive cost and service levels. This session will highlight the process for creating a segmentation strategy, as well as best practices to create improved customer experiences.”

McDaniel leads the Avnet Velocity team’s efforts in designing and implementing supply chain solutions for Avnet and its customers. His expertise includes supply chain engineering, supply chain finance, warehouse management and worldwide transportation logistics. He has more than 25 years of supply chain experience in the high-tech industry. In 2008, McDaniel was named to Supply & Demand Chain Executive’s Pros to Know list.
