Jackson Design and Remodeling Wins Three Master Design Awards

Contemporary kitchen, bold bathroom and relaxing ocean condo earn San Diego remodeling firm top honors in national awards program.

SAN DIEGO, CA, October 24, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jackson Design and Remodeling (JDR) announced today that the San Diego-based design and remodeling firm has won three Master Design Awards, the prestigious awards program for professional remodelers run by Qualified Remodeler Magazine. Each year hundreds of design firms submit their best projects across 23 categories. JDR's wins came in the highly competitive categories of whole homes (less than $300,000), bathrooms (more than $75,000) and kitchens ($75,000 - $100,000). This is JDR's sixth consecutive year receiving Master Design Awards for its work.

JDR's 2014 Master Design awards were earned for the following projects:

Bathrooms more than $75,000

JDR received a Gold Master Design Award for their "Daring Style" Master Bathroom designed for a young San Diego couple. The clients wanted to create a bold, powerful spa-like space without losing the ability to multitask. With a toddler to care for, these parents wanted a master bath that would make bath time easy and enjoyable. The JDR team led by Senior Designer Sol Quintana Wagoner, Assistant Designer Marisela Contreras and Residential Designer John Kavan, incorporated elements like a freestanding tub and sleek open shower to give the master bath an open concept, while shoji-style sliding doors and frosted glass allow ample light to flow through the room while providing privacy for this relaxing retreat.

Whole Houses less than $300,000

JDR earned a Silver Master Design Award for a seaside luxury home remodel. The clients hired JDR to help them turn a drab, dark space into an upscale waterfront retreat to sell. JDR Senior Designer Tatiana Machado-Rosas, Assistant Designer Alison Green and Residential Designer John Kavan, opened the space up by utilizing the ocean as the home's natural focal point. The new floor plan was designed with thoughtful innovation to make the most of its surroundings. The remarkable transformation of this 1,200 sq. foot home includes a great room, kitchen, master bedroom and two bathrooms. Once the project was completed, the homeowners couldn't part with the newly remodeled oceanfront property and quickly turned the home into their exclusive vacation retreat.

Honorable Mention in Kitchens $75,000-150,000

In addition to JDR's Gold and Silver Master Design Awards, the San Diego firm also took home an honorable mention for turning a small space into a "Timeless Modern" kitchen. The JDR team led by Interior Designer Alison Green, Assistant Designer Liz Carter and Residential Designer Chris Ashby, created this beautiful kitchen for a client with exceptional taste and a modest budget. The designers brought in a large island painted dove gray, allowing the homeowners to decorate with different color concepts. A wall was removed to create the open floor plan, making the kitchen look and feel larger and providing the couple with extra space to entertain friends and family.

The Master Design Awards are judged by remodeling industry peers from across the country. Awards are given to Gold, Silver, Bronze and Honorable Mention winners.
