Amidst global recalls on baby wipes, one brand stands proud & safe: Shittens

By: PRLog
As news breaks about the baby wipe recall affecting 10 brands of baby wipes, "Shittens" becomes an unlikely leader in baby wipe safety.
PRLog - Oct. 31, 2014 - NEW YORK -- Nutek Disposables of Pennsylvania has issued a voluntary recall for its baby wipes because some packages may contain a bacteria that's often resistant to common antibiotics. The wipes being recalled are Cuties, Diapers.com, Femtex, Fred's, Kidgets, Member's Mark, Simply Right, Sunny Smiles, Tender Touch and Well Beginnings. They were sold to Walgreens, Sam's Club, Family Dollar, Fred's and Diapers.com. After it received some complaints of discoloration and an odor, Nutek said it conducted tests and found that some of the products contained the bacteria, Burkholderia cepacia (B. cepacia). B. cepacia poses no risk to healthy people, but those with weakened immune systems or lung diseases could be infected.

Not included on the recall list? Shittens.

"When we heard about the recall, we immediately contacted our factories to ensure the safety of our product. That's obviously most important to us. The poop jokes? Well, let's just say they're Number 2." said CEO, Richie Wilson. "We're happy to report that Shittens remain safe for use on babies, adults, elderly & pets"

For those unfamiliar with Shittens, they are wet wipes in the shape of a mitten, thereby protecting the full hand from fecal contamination. Launched last year, they've become a viral sensation attracting the attention of celebrities and journalists alike. Jenny McCarthy tweeted that she'd found "this year's stocking stuffer."

"Shittens have been explosive in their growth", said CMO Rachel Fine. "We never could have expected there would be so much global interest in heiney hygeine.  We're delighted to provide the least fecally-risky option in wet wipes on the market today."

Shittens sold out last Christmas after being featured on the Today Show with Kathie Lee & Hoda. "We're encouraging everyone to stock up on Shittens right now. Not only are we dealing with the holiday gift giving rush, in the face (or more appropriately, backside) of this recall, we're being bombarded with orders for everyday use", reports Fine.

Sound advice for every consumer. As the company motto states, poop is gross. But bacterially infested recalled wipes are grosser.
