On Nov 11th, Kailan Wyatt, a seasoned web developer, launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for MyPluginLab, a set of online tools that make it easy to develop commercial-grade wordpress plugins. The product aids in the rapid development of WordPress scripts and takes the grunt work out of coding new plugins.
“There are different ways to build a plugin in less time, but nothing in record time like the Lab,”says Kailan. “I want this to help developers like myself, save time and still build quality work.
It is not a mere a snippet generator, boilerplate or post type builder; it is an online tool that moves from idea to product.”
MyPluginLab makes it easy to create SQL tables online and comes with a widget layout chooser, WP Query generator, admin option maker, and will integrate with Visual Composer to create shortcodes. The plugin builder uses a drag and drop interface for easy development and also comes with beginner and advanced tutorials for premium members, which explain how to build plugins from scratch or integrate plugins into other APIs.
Having already invested time and money in making the prototype, MyPluginLab decided to take the project to Kickstarter to raise further funds to improve the builder’s user interface and create more training resources. In exchange for pledging to the campaign, backers get access to exclusive ‘perks’or ‘rewards’including a monthly or yearly subscription to MyPluginLab.
