SemperCon helping transform app ideas into successful businesses at UPenn’s AppItUp Challenge

By: PRLog
PRLog - Nov. 19, 2014 - PHILADELPHIA -- SemperCon has partnered with the University of Pennsylvania’s business incubator, UpStart, to transform the brilliant app ideas of from the Penn community into commercial apps and real companies. Challenge finalists are not only connected with local developers, but also VC firms and investors to help grow their vision into a reality.

Only last year did UpStart launch the AppItUp challenge, and submissions this year more than doubled–with 426 submissions from 11 schools across the University of Pennsylvania.  This year the stakes are even higher for semifinalists. Ben Franklin Technology Partners has committed to supporting the winner with a $50,000 investment offer.

Since inception, SemperCon has been one of the mobile and web application development firms selected to assist challenge finalists in developing a prototype of their app ideas.  Last year Resuscor, a popular semifinalist, selected SemperCon to develop their application, which assists physicians and nurses in delivering ‘Targeted Temperature Management’.

“Experienced mobile application development partners like SemperCon have helped the AppItUp challenge achieve our goal of creating businesses from ideas,” said Karina Sotnik Upstart, PCI Ventures.

SemperCon has continued serving as a trusted partner of Resuscor since the first AppItUp event. SemperCon is working with Resuscor to transition its prototype into a more robust application that provides nurses with real-time, point-of-care assistance when performing Targeted Temperature Management procedures, scheduled for release in early 2015.

SemperCon is proud to participate in UpStart’s AppItUp challenge for the second year in a row.

Join us in watching Semi-finalists present their app ideas tomorrow Thursday, Nov 20 at the Quorum at the Science Center, 3711 Market St., Philadelphia PA. Registration is free.
