Union Rescue Mission and the Hearts for Hope Committee have partnered together for the sixth annual Hearts for Hope "A Future of Hope" Gala to raise awareness and funds for Hope Gardens Family Center. Los Angeles, CA - November 20, 2014 - (iNewswire)
On any given night in Los Angeles County, over 25,000 women and children are sleeping on the street or in places unsuitable for humans to live in. Women and children now make up 40% of all people experiencing homelessness. That's why Union Rescue Mission (URM) has established the Hope Gardens Family Center (HGFC), which houses and helps children, mothers, and single women get off of skid row and transition to independent living.
URM and the Hearts for Hope Committee have partnered together for the sixth annual Hearts for Hope “A Future of Hope” Gala to raise awareness and funds for HGFC. The event will take place on February 28th, 2015 at the beautiful Four Seasons Hotel, Westlake Village.
Last year’s event was hosted by comedian Robert G. Lee and entertainment included Joy Enriquez, wife of Grammy Award winning producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins and Malibu singer-songwriter Kylie Hughes. With support from the 2014 honorees, sponsors, and special guests, the event was a success, raising over $400,000 for HGFC.
The 2015 honorees who have given their time and treasure to URM and the Hope Garden Family Center include: Alan Melina (CEO/Founder-New Heights Entertainment, Kevin Dretzka (Private Equity Investor), Timothy J. Sloan (CFO-Wells Fargo), and Melinda & Chuck Smith (Hoag Family Foundation).
