PRLog - Nov. 26, 2014 - Tom Gill Chevy in Florence, Kentucky is announcing the Fill-A-Truck charity event to help low-income seniors in the area. The event will run between now and December 22, 2014 and all are welcome to participate. The goal of the Fill-A-Truck charity event is to literally fill a truck with non-perishable food items and toiletries. Acceptable items include canned vegetables, rice, toothpaste, razors, and most other items that will not spoil in storage.
All collected items will be donated to Senior Services of North Kentucky (SSNK). The group has a mission to serve the needs of area seniors by providing food, protection, transportation, entertainment, and pet care. The SSNK travels to eight area counties including Grant, Carroll, Boone, and others to ensure that all the elderly residents of North Kentucky can lead happy, healthy, and dignified lives.
All participants in the Fill-A-Truck charity event will be entered into a drawing as a thank you for their generosity. For every $10 worth of items donated (receipt must be shown), the giver will be entered into a drawing for an Apple iPad Mini or a $100 gas card. Monetary donations will also be accepted to benefit the local Meals-on-Wheels program. The drawing for the winners of the two prizes will be held on December 22, 2014 at 1:00 p.m.
This event is part of Tom Gill Chevrolet's long-standing commitment to community involvement and charitable fund raising. Past events have raised money for breast cancer research, local baseball teams, and others. This is the first time that the dealership has partnered with SSNK, and the event is specifically timed to ensure that all the collected items can be distributed before the holidays.
In order to make a donation, participants are invited to bring their unopened non-perishable food and toiletry items directly to Tom Gill Chevy so they can be added to the others filling up the truck. The dealership is located at 7830 Commerce Drive in Florence, KY and open seven days a week. A member of the Tom Gill Chevy staff will be on hand to collect donations and help any participant get registered for the prize drawing.
