The Emerald Coast Lights Up this Holiday Season

Destin is the Beach Town with Holiday Bling Providing a Variety of Festive Events.
PRLog - Dec. 2, 2014 - DESTIN, Fla. -- Destin, Florida  began as a quiet beach town in the early 1900’s but recent years have seen it emerge as a top vacation and holiday destination. Its numerous open-air malls each offer many diverse seasonal events designed to attract many from around the country.

Resting at the foot of the scenic Destin Bridge, HarborWalk Village is the west end locale for holiday flair. On December 13th and 14th, guests can enjoy two days of festivities including a performance of the Nutcracker by Northwest Florida Ballet, showcases by the Emerald Coast Community Band and the New Orleans inspired Village Brass Band, the Sunday Artwalk followed by the 28th annual Destin Boat Parade and a fireworks show for a bright finale. HarborWalk Village also has big plans for New Year’s Eve with a family-friendly and free to the public event featuring live concerts, two fireworks shows and the 7th Annual Ball Drop.

Set in the center of town and close to many condo rentals in Destin, Florida sits Destin Commons’ outdoor lifestyle center, whose locally famous Christmas Tree is now on display. New additions to its recent expansion include El Jalisco Mexican restaurant known for authentic Mexican cuisine. Plus, the New Year will welcome the grand opening of World of Beer where 500 plus beers from over 40 countries are complemented by tavern fare.

Baytowne Wharf, located just east of Destin, is having its own holiday celebrations in the Village. December 13th is the date for the free, Tuba Christmas Concert- a national event that brings together musicians proficient in playing instruments in the tuba family. Later that evening, the Holiday Paper Lantern Parade will begin and visitors are invited to decorate their own lantern then watch it soar. Finally, the Village will celebrate the New Year with live music and fireworks over the lagoon at Midnight.

The furthest east open-air mall- Grand Boulevard is hosting a festival dedicated to decorating trees. Now through December 31st, the fifth annual “Festival of Trees” will showcase 12 uniquely decorated Christmas trees from area non-profit organizations in Grand Park.
