The Code for Good Challenges brings together college students studying technology to develop solutions to challenges faced by nonprofits during an intense two-day event.

The series of events will take place in Hong Kong and participants at each event will be placed into teams and tasked with working together to creatively solve a challenge faced by a local nonprofit organization. Jones Shaw Capital Partners technologists will also be involved, advising participants throughout the course of the event. A panel of judges will determine the winning team, which will be announced at the culmination of the 2-day event.
Students from over 40 different universities joined with 6 nonprofit organizations to create innovative technology solutions for the social sector, coding overnight for over 24 hours. On the second day of each event, a panel of judges determined the winning team.
The winning team created a solution that was both a web and mobile app designed to help track in-kind tools and machinery during relief efforts in times of disaster with off-line capabilities. Their solution mobilizes military veterans and first responders to rapidly deploy emergency response teams and provide disaster relief.
