San Francisco, USA - December 18, 2014 - (iNewswire)

On November 28, a friday night protest in San Francisco turned violent.

San Francisco’s police chief says 79 people in all were charged in connection with a protest at Union Square during Black Friday due to their violent actions.

At the beginning, it was the Union Square tree lighting ceremony, which attracts families and children. However, protests had also been attracted. Several people among the crowd vandalized buildings and attacked officers by throwing rocks and bottles.

The violence dealt a big damage to San Francisco: At least 5 officers were injured while they were trying to restore order; More than 18 shops had been attacked; Yet over 30 innocent people were injured at different degrees. “This march, if it ever was a First Amendment march, got hijacked by a criminal fringe element bent on destruction and criminal conduct, ”San Francisco police chief Greg Suhr said. “Were it not for the efforts of the officers and the leadership on the ground, it could have been far worse.”

Yang Ke, a friend of the author, had witnessed the whole event. “I was resting in a cafe at that night, suddenly I heard the sound of glass crashes. The outside was in chaos. A staff locked the door and asked all the people in the cafe to get down on the floor,” said Yang Ke, “When I was laying on the floor, I tried to contact everyone I know to tell them what was happened tonight. I tried calling my friends, tweet to those I cannot reach, and post on my Facebook.”

He did warned all his friends around San Francisco, including the author himself. At that night, the author was going to do some shopping at Union Square, but luckily, a massage from Yang Ke stopped him.

“I hoped to inform more innocent people, but there was nothing I can do besides calling the police.” said Yang Ke.

After talking with Yang Ke, the author was feared. What if the author has not been informed? Will him got involved into the protest, or even been injured in the violence? How many innocent people were involved with out alert? How many of the injuries can be avoided by alerting those people before they get to the Union Square? The author does not know. But there is one thing could be certain: If the APPs we are using can contact more people jump outside the circle of friend, the injuries will be definitely reduced.

The author tried to find such an APP among thousands of social networking APPs, finally an APP named “WowPlus” has been founded. WowPlus is based on LBS location and aiming to restore real situations. It could gather and share information and opinion from different individuals, so that the people in same area can be informed even if there was only 1 person posted the information of a possible danger, no matter they know each other or not. Meanwhile, WowPlus also has amazing functions such as good change, help, and grouping activities. With these features, you will never face difficulties and dangers along.
