Cordoba Corp Presents at the NALEO National Institute for Newly Elected Officials

Cordoba Corporation’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Randall Martinez, recently participated as a speaker and panelist at the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) Educational Fund’s 10th Biennial NALEO National Institute for Newly Elected Officials in Washington, D.C.

NALEO Educational Fund is the leading nonprofit organization that facilitates full Latino participation in the American political process, from citizenship to public service. They carry out their mission through programs that integrate Latinos fully into American political society, provide professional development opportunities and technical assistance to the nation’s more than 6,000 Latino elected and appointed officials, and monitor and conduct advocacy on issues important to the Latino community and our political participation.

As a panelist at the Institute, Martinez offered the perspective of the private sector and how the company approaches its work with policymakers. He presented to nearly fifty newly elected municipal officials representing cities located throughout the nation. Afterwards, the City Manager of Berkeley, Mich. and the City Attorney of Hawthorne, Calif. joined him in a breakout session entitled, "Policymaking and Making the Bureaucracy Work For You.”

“We were pleased to have Randall Martinez join us once again as an instructor at our biannual bootcamp for Latino newly elected officials in Washington D.C.,” stated Arturo Vargas, NALEO Educational Fund Executive Director. “His invaluable counsel and advice during the event will help ensure that the next generation of Latino policymakers have the skills and tools needed to become effective advocates for their communities.”

“NALEO Educational Fund is doing outstanding work to encourage participation in the public sector and I was happy to contribute some insight from my experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects in California that often require strong public participation,” said Randall Martinez.

As Executive Vice President for Cordoba Corporation, Martinez is responsible for overall service delivery and resource allocation, and has company-wide responsibility to develop strategic marketing plans, maintain client relations and provide corporate communications.
