Best Real Estate Mobile App Award Won in National Competition

In December, the Web Marketing Association announced the winners of their annual MobileWebAwards Competition. 8z Real Estate received an industry level award for the “Best Real Estate Mobile Application.”
The 8z HomeSpotter app was originally developed in 2013. 8z Real Estate President Lane Hornung explains, “Real estate and smartphones complement each other. Home buyers are using their smartphones and tablets to find information that they would have used a desktop computer to look for, less than five years ago. For a technology driven company like 8z Real Estate, it was a no-brainer that a real estate app would provide a better real estate search, on the device they prefer to use.”
The 8z HomeSpotter app provides complete real estate listing data for Colorado and California’s Bay area. It sets itself apart from other real estate mobile apps, as the listing data is updated directly from the MLS. Users have the ability to save homes that interest them, scroll through photos, get directions to listings, and find open houses. The signature feature, HomeSpotter, allows users to find homes within their vicinity, using their device’s GPS.
Twenty fourteen marked the second annual MobileWebAwards. The judging differentiated entries by mobile applications and mobile websites. The Web Marketing Association has hosted a WebAward Competition for 18 years, but, “The WebAward judges have chosen to split out the mobile sites into a separate competition to recognize the explosive growth and creativity in this space.”
The Web Marketing Association was founded to, “set a high standard for internet marketing and development of the best websites on the World Wide Web.” The organization is run by volunteers who share an interest in improving the quality of online advertising, internet marketing, and website promotion.
