Healthcare Giants Provide Insight into Industry's Future at 'Future of Healthcare Symposium' Hosted by Pepperdine University's Graziadio School of Business and Management

The United States is in the midst of a major transformation in the way healthcare is delivered and paid for; and the changes taking place extend well beyond the Affordable Care Act. Healthcare CEOs, senior executives, and policy advisors will convene at this year's Future of Healthcare Symposium to share what's coming down the pipe and the imminent impacts to payers. The symposium, hosted by Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and Management, will take place March 26, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza.

It's well known that improvements need to be made in terms of the affordability and quality of our nation's healthcare, but how specifically is that being done? That is what this year's speakers intend to address: the list includes Susan Dentzer, senior policy adviser for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Steve Collis, president and CEO of AmerisourceBergen, Dr. John Agwunobi, former senior vice president and president of health and wellness at Wal-Mart, Mark Morgan, president of Anthem Blue Cross, Thomas Priselac, president and CEO of Cedars-Sinai Health System, and Dr. David Feinberg, president and CEO of UCLA Health System. “Whether you're in the field of healthcare or not, this is information we all need to be familiar with. Healthcare continues to be one of the largest growing industries in our economy, and our students have increasingly shown interest in gaining a greater understanding of the field,” said Gary Mangiofico, associate dean of executive programs and executive professor of leadership and management at Pepperdine’s Graziadio School of Business and Management.

The Future of Healthcare symposium will also take an in-depth look at the challenges to providing high-quality patient care, including the increasing cost of drugs, and the role scientific and technological advancements continue to play in ensuring the good health of the population.
