NXP Semiconductors (Nasdaq: NXPI) will pay approximately $11.8 billion
in cash and stock to acquire Freescale Semiconductor Ltd. (NYSE: FSL). Shares of NXP leaped $14.15 to $99.04 while Freescale stock soared $4.20 to $40.31.
