Barron’s Ranks Greg Miller of Wellesley Investment Advisors Number One Financial Advisor in Massachusetts

Greg Miller, CPA, CEO and Co-Chief Investment Officer of Wellesley Investment Advisors, Inc. was named to Barron’s list of the Top 1,200 Financial Advisors in its February 23, 2015 publication. Miller ranked Number One in Massachusetts in the financial magazine’s most comprehensive list of advisors which is published annually.

In response to being named Massachusetts’ top advisor in Barron’s latest ranking, firm co-founder Greg Miller said, “It is an honor to appear on such an illustrious list. I’m pleased that our strategy using convertible bonds with the goal of outperforming both stocks and bonds over full market cycles has helped our clients with their long-term investment objectives and in turn, resulted in the growth of Wellesley Investment Advisors.” Assets under management at Wellesley Investment Advisors are in excess of $2.4 billion, as of February 28, 2015.

Reflecting on the firm’s growth, Michael Miller, Co-Chief Investment Officer, stated, “We believe our growth is directly related to investors’ concerns about possible upcoming corrections and a desire for relative safety, while still pursuing equity-like capital appreciation. We believe convertible bonds offer this. In addition, convertibles are one of the few fixed income vehicles that have historically performed well during periods of rising interest rates.”

“This is tremendous recognition for my partner, Greg, and for our entire team,” said Darlene Murphy, CPA, CFP®, President and co-founder of Wellesley Investment Advisors. “To be recognized as #1 in Massachusetts, a state with so many financial advisors – reflects the depth and breadth, as well as the talent and dedication of our team of professionals. This just strengthens our resolve to continue providing the best possible investment management service to our clients in every state.”

To be nominated for Barron’s Top 1,200 Financial Advisor listing, advisors must complete an extensive survey about their practice. The criteria for inclusion are: total assets under management and revenue generated, as well as the overall quality of the practice. Investment performance is not an explicit criterion, because clients’ investment goals vary. In many cases, the objective is preservation of wealth, rather than market-trouncing returns.
