Rocketing to its top speed of 168 mph by a 2.0L direct-injected turbocharged i-VTEC four-cylinder engine rated at 306 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, this mean hatchback features a six-speed manual transmission with the shifter topped by a machined aluminum knob for an extra touch of style.
The top speed of the new Type R isn't the only thing that's impressive about it; Honda has clocked it going from 0 to 62 mph in only 5.7 seconds.
In addition to the new turbocharged engine, the 2016 Type R will feature adjustable dampers with four different modes, and drivers will be able to press a “+R” button that will put the dampers on their firmest settings, sharpen the throttle response, and tighten the steering.
To match the substance with a bit of style, the cabin is loaded with modern tech features, and drivers can add on navigation, dual-zone climate control, upgraded audio systems, and much more.
